New Release | Callus cell lines
We have released three callus cell lines that were cultured on gellan gum-solidified media.
- Grape YU-1-c
- Arabidopsis YG1-c
- Arabidopsis At tom-c

Attention to commonly used cell lines
Variable characteristics in human K-562 leukemia cell lines have often been overlooked. Commonly used cell lines may exhibit differences in their characteristics, even when they share the same name. Cell lines obtained from public cell banks can help ensure reproducibility, and publications should include both the registration number and the cell name.

A bicistronic cell cycle reporter, Fucci2a
Fucci2a has G1 phase specific protein (Cdt1(30/120) -mCherry) and S/G2/M phase specific protein (Geminin(1/110) -mVenus) tethered by a T2A sequence. Because the expression levels of the two fluorescent proteins are steady when introduced into cultured cells or when using the Tg mouse model, the cell cycle can be observed with high accuracy.
Microbe Division (JCM)
Gut microbes isolated by liquid-liquid co-culture method
Using a liquid-liquid co-culture method with liquid medium instead of solid medium, Waltera species with curved features have been isolated from the human intestine. The liquid-liquid co-culture method is expected to be applied not only to the isolation of gut microbes but also to the isolation of microorganisms from various environments in the future.
