Announcement of bioresources containing the tetracycline-inducible gene expression (TET) system

  • RIKEN BioResource Research Center (RIKEN BRC) and TET Systems GmbH & Co. KG concluded a contract regarding the mouse strains containing the tetracycline (TET)-inducible gene expression system (TET system) on November 14, 2008. Thereafter, RIKEN BRC has distributed the mouse strains containing the TET system to not-for-profit entities only for not-for-profit purposes without requesting any license fee to the recipients. After the contract, the deposition of the mouse strains containing the TET system to RIKEN BRC has also been possible.
  • RIKEN BRC can accept deposition of cell materials and gene materials containing the TET system. However, regarding those containing the TET system of which the patent is valid a prior written permission of TET Systems GmbH & Co. KG is necessary.
  • Bioresources containing the TET system are expected to extensively contribute to research and development of life sciences. RIKEN BRC carry outs expansion, quality control, preservation and distribution of deposited bioresources on behalf of the scientists who generated the precious bioresources. Please deposit bioresources you generated to RIKEN BRC.
