No requirement of the Schedule A for distribution of the GFP resources
Cytiva (as successor-in-interest to GE Healthcare UK Limited) informed us that the last of the Cytiva patents covering green fluorescent protein (GFP) of Aequorea victoria and its mutants (EGFP, ECFP, EYFP, EBFP, etc.) expired. As a result, for providing GFP resources that are bioresources containing the GFP or its mutant genes (GFP resources), the submission of “SCHEDULE A” regarding the GFP is no longer needed for both non-profit academic research purposes and for-profit research purposes.
Please take advantage of the situation.
We hope that you will make use of thousands of GFP resources in our stock.
When you develop your own GFP resources, please deposit them with us. Such deposits will be a significant contribution to the scientific community by promoting related research and the protection of your own intellectual property. Furthermore, the deposition will free you from time consuming preparation and distributing GFP resources to fellow researchers. Your GFP resources will be carefully preserved and maintained in our center so that we may meet the needs of researchers around the world.
Please deposit your GFP resources with us.
Thank you very much for your kind attention.
