20th Anniversary of RIKEN BioResource Research Center
BioResource Seminar in Keihanna
On March 1, 2021, we held an online seminar “BioResource Seminar in Keihanna” to introduce the activities of RIKEN BioResource Research Center and present case studies of bioresources utilization. The purpose of the seminar, which marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of BRC, was to promote collaboration with universities, research institutes, and companies located in Keihanna Science City and the Kansai area, where there is significant research activity in the field of life science, and to promote the creation of new industries in the field. Following opening remarks from Director Shiroishi, five researchers from BRC gave presentations.
Unlike previous years, this year’s seminar was held online using ZOOM as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Despite being the online seminar, there were significantly more than 100 applicants, and we also made the seminar available to the public by broadcasting it live on YouTube.
