On July 5, 2024, Dr. Moriya Ohkuma, Director of Microbe Division (JCM) received Japan Society for Microbial Resources and Systematics Award for his research achievement entitled “Roles of Microbial Resource Center, Its Development and Related Research”.

In addition, Dr. Atsushi Hisatomi, Postdoctoral Researcher, Dr. Moriya Ohkuma, Director and Dr. Mitsuo Sakamoto, Senior Research Scientist in the same division, received Oral Presentation Award for his presentation titled “Gut microbes obtained by liquid-liquid co-culture method”.

These awards were presented by the Japan Society for Microbial Resources and Systematics (JSMRS).
