On September 3, 2026, Dr. Akira Hashimoto, Research Scientist from Microbe Division (JCM) received the Encouragement Award for his research achievement titled “Studies on the systematics of difficult-to-culture ascomycetes” and Dr. Atsushi Hisatomi, Postdoctoral Researcher also received the Encouragement Award for his research achievement titled “Research on the isolation and taxonomic characterization of uncultured and difficult-to-culture bacteria from the human gut”.

In addition, Ms. Yoko Morishita. Technical Staff II from the same division gave a presentation titled “FY2025 Activities report of RIKEN BRC-JCM” and received the Poster Award.

These awards were presented by the Japan Society for Microbial Resources and Systematics.
